In addition to the re-launch of the first beta of watchOS 5, Apple has also released the second beta of iOS 11.4.1 Because yes, although Apple has already introduced and is developing iOS 12, it still continues with the development and support of iOS 11, in its version 11.4.1 in this case. It is expected that this version will arrive definitively to all users in the coming weeks. Possibly at the end of July.

How to download and install the watchOS 5 beta on the Apple Watch

To download and install the watchOS 5 beta, a series of requirements must be met.

Requirements to download and install the watchOS 5 beta version

  • The first one is to have iOS 12 installed on the iPhone that is synchronized with the Apple Watch where the beta of watchOS 5 will be installed.
  • The second one is to be registered with an Apple ID developer and the Apple Watch is registered as a development device.
Following this, you can proceed with the installation of watchOS 5 in its beta version on your Apple Watch. The update will appear as available in the Watch> General> Software Update app. With the Apple Watch with more than 50% battery and connected to the charger, you can proceed to download and install the beta on the Apple Watch.

As always, you should remember that it is a beta version, focused on developers and so that they can try new features to adapt their apps and report failures to Apple. It is not a version for users and therefore may malfunction or lead to data loss. It is therefore advisable to install it on a secondary device and not on the main devices. In fact, once updated to watchOS 5 there is no way to downgrade watchOS 4.
