Why the Apple Watch gets pressure-sensitive buttons

That's what Fast Company says. The website has spoken with a few insiders who are aware of Apple's new plans. We expect to see the new Apple Watch later this year. It is unknown whether this model already has pressure-sensitive buttons, or whether we should wait until 2019.

Haptic feedback was present for the first time in the iPhone 7 (Plus). As soon as you press the home button, it looks like the button is actually going down, while in fact, it is not. The feedback is simulated with a short vibration.

Furthermore, nothing changes to the layout of the buttons. So you have to keep running on the digital crown and also the selection button remains present.

Advantages of  having pressure-sensitive buttons in iWatch

Pressure-sensitive buttons have several advantages. First, the water resistance of the smartwatch increases. In addition, the spring mechanism can be omitted, saving space. This allows the battery to be increased, resulting in a longer battery life. Finally, the housing now consists of a solid whole, allowing the production speed to increase.

The new Apple Watch will also focus more on health. The top of the physical buttons would be equipped with sensors that can monitor vital body functions of users. This rumour is in line with the watchOS 5 presentations, which also focused on digital health.

The Fast Company report concludes with the prediction that the Apple Watch will no longer have any physical buttons in the future. Instead, there are touchscreens on the side that respond to finger touches.

Also, check all the new watchOS 5 functions and improvements that may not know yet.
