The arrival of the fast charger to the iPhone is officially announced last year and the different rumours we have had about a change to USB-C, suggest that Apple could change its charger soon. This change seems to be not half, but Apple will directly include the new charger in the iPhone box.

Apple's iPhone new Fastest Charger

During the last months, we have seen some renders and filtered images of what could be the new Apple charger for the iPhone. Basically, it would be a plug that would go from supporting 5 W to supporting 18 W, more than enough torque for fast charging, which requires 7.5 W minimum in the latest iPhone models.

Included in the new iPhone, but not sold separately

There is one more difference in this possible charger with respect to the current one, it is about your connection. In the current chargers, Apple uses a USB-A connection to Lightning, in this charger could be USB-C to Lightning. A much more versatile connection, but not adopted by many users yet.

This feature and the fact that it will include its own chip for the regulation and distribution of energy to the devices may make distribution difficult. As indicated by a website, it will be initially included in the iPhone box of 2018, but will not be sold as accessories.

Throughout the following months, when the stock is enough, we will begin to see it for sale separately, for those who have another iPhone and want to use the fast charge. On the other hand, it is expected that Apple makes available to third-party manufacturers this chip MFi certification so that we see more optimal fast charge chargers for the iPhone.
