Run quickly to the Mac App Store, because another update is waiting for you. macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 is now available to everyone after Apple has had this version tested by developers in recent months.

macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 available
From today it is possible to use AirPlay 2 on the Mac because Apple has released macOS 10.13.6. Furthermore, the update mainly includes performance improvements, although Apple has not specified in detail what has really improved. macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 is almost 2GB in size and can be downloaded from the Mac App Store.
This new macOS update finally offers compatibility with AirPlay 2 so you can use multiroom speakers in combination with your Mac. The support is currently limited to iTunes, while in the future you can also expect support from other audio systems.
AirPlay 2 was actually announced during WWDC 2017 and has been available in iOS 11.4 since last May. As a result, you could stream music, films and other audio to several speakers for longer. For two speakers you need a set of HomePods, but there will soon be several AirPlay 2 speakers from other manufacturers. Think of manufacturers such as Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Marantz and Sonos.
For example, in the bugfixes that are fixed in macOS 10.13.6, you will find a problem with the Photos app. As a result, AVCHD media from certain cameras was not recognized.
Apple is busy working on macOS Mojave, the successor with a darker mode, more standard apps and many more improvements. macOS Mojave is expected to appear in September and you can read more about it in our overview.
